In Vitro Tests
We have the necessary technology to undertake studies involving the use of animal cell cultures. Cells, which can come from multiple organs and numerous species, enable to reproduce at lab-scale fast, reliable and predictive systems to study the behaviour of drugs, cosmetics and other products affecting human health at cellular and sub cellular level.
Cell cultures are used to evaluate the toxicity and cell effectiveness of chemicals, biological products, drugs, cosmetics or nanoparticles. Our research team's expertise in this field involves the study of the alteration of the mechanisms of action involved in these processes through the study of cell, molecular or proteomic markers. Moreover, the group focuses on the evaluation and prediction of the pharmacokinetic behaviour of drugs - absorption, metabolism, drug interaction and protein binding - through in vitro systems. These studies are essential in drug development. The activity undertaken by this team is framed within our GLP standard certification granted by the Ministry of Health and Social Policy.
