Development of solid recovered fuels (SRF) and refuse derived fuels (RDF). Validation of technical specifications

Development and conceptualisation of processes to produce refuse derived fuels that meet the technical specifications required at European level or that comply with the specifications established between the fuel producer and the user.

  • Assessment of the suitability of waste streams to produce SRF and RDF through physical-chemical characterisation
  • Development of waste treatment schemes to produce SRF and RDF:
    • Pre-crushing
    • Sifting
    • Elimination of non-combustible inert elements through material separation operations (metals, glass, aggregates, etc.)
    • Crushing
    • Densification / Compaction
  • Validation of compliance with technical specifications for SRF and their classification under UNE-EN 15359:2012
  • Validation of RDF according to pre-established criteria
  • Quantification of the biomass content present in SRF and RDF (CO2 neutral emissions)
  • Chlorine content control and operating strategies to ensure low chlorine content
