At GAIKER, we have an aerated photobioreactor for the cultivation and processing of microalgae and we are experienced in the cultivation of several species in R&D projects. The potential applications of microalgae are in sectors such as aquaculture, cosmetics and food, and we complete their valuation cycle by searching for and evaluating functionalities for their application in food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
An example of this valuation of microalgae is the Akura project, which consists of the development of a sustainable process of land-based cultivation of mugilids, formulating and applying diets enriched with microalgae and incorporating improvements in water recirculation systems (RAS) with the aim of obtaining a final product of high nutritional quality and market value.
