GAIKER-IK4 is a member of IK4 Research Alliance together with other six Basque technology centres: Azterlan, Ceit, , Ideko, Ikerlan, Lortek and Tekniker

This Alliance brings together our resources with the goal of reaching the highest scientific-technological excellence levels and transfer this knowledge to the industrial network.

Translating this critical mass into figures, IK4 joins 1.158 professionals, providing service to a client portfolio of more than 600 companies. Thus, IK4 holds a prominent position in the main research support programmes across the different administrations. In 2017, the Alliance recorded a total revenue that exceeded 103,4 million euros in R&D.

IK4, a private and independent Alliance, has become a benchmark Institution within the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation System as well as in the European technological sphere. Orienting IK4's skills to the current market has been key to achieve this, by pooling all its resources around eight scientific and technological units: biotechnology and biomaterials, micro and nanotechnologies, environment and recycling, energy, industrial management and production, mecatronics, materials and processes, and ICTs.
